If it were in a gallery, it would be art.
Two possible conclusions: 1. by placing things in galleries, they gain “artistic” significance; 2. what art does is happening in a different form in the world.
The first, galleries make everything into art, speaks to a kind of human attention. That objects are doing work in the world also speaks to a kind of human attention. They are not the same kind of attention.
Isn’t that a class thing? Shouldn’t we be talking about that?
